Core Mission
The core mission of the Long Valley Woman’s Club is community and public service. The participation of every member is essential in fulfilling the Club mission. To encourage engagement, we offer many different committees that will suit a variety of interests and talents.
Membership
Publishes the directory; maintains records of new and returning members.
Communications
Prepares articles for publication and sends announcements of Club activities and achievements to the media.
Antiques Show Coordinator
In charge of show details, including vendors and contracts.
Creative Arts
Encourages members to share their many talents; coordinates related activities
Sunshine
Keeps members informed about other members in the Club; sends out cards from the Club to members for special events or occasions.
Historian
Keeps records and documents of Club activities and events in a “Memory Book.”
Literary
Coordinates monthly meetings for book discussions.
Community Outreach and Home Life
Serves as a liaison between the Club and organizations within the community, such as the Battered Women`s Shelter, Homeless Solutions and the Food Pantry, among others.
Education
Interviews and selects Girls’ Career Institute Candidates, who attend a mini college experience at Douglass College. Determines recipients of six high school scholarships awarded at school ceremonies each spring.
Hospitality
Arranges for hostesses to set up and provide food and beverages for the monthly general meeting.
State Projects
Coordinates activities for the 2-year project voted on by state Clubs and directed and coordinated for the state by the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs. The State Project for 2020-2022 is Operation Chillout, New Jersey’s outreach to assist homeless veterans.
